The Samoa Police, Prisons and Corrections Services (SPPCS) has reported 10 deaths from several incidents across the country since the beginning of July.
Police said the increase in deaths is a reminder for the public to stay alert and make safety a priority in their daily lives.
SPPCS said investigations into each incident are continuing and urged people to be careful on the roads, at sea, at work, at home and during other activities.
Among the deaths in July are several incidents previously reported by the Samoa Observer.
On Saturday, July 4, a 22-year-old man died after an alleged assault in Togafu‘afu‘a. Police said he was admitted to Tupua Tamasese Meaole Hospital after the reported assault on Friday, July 3, before dying from his injuries the following day.On July 4, a 53-year-old man from Moata‘a and a United States citizen residing in California died following an alleged assault at Taumeasina Hideaway. Police said several people have been charged as investigations continue.
