The figure represented a 20.4% increase from 2025, according to data released by the National Immigration Administration (NIA).
NIA spokesperson Lin Yongsheng said at a news conference that the growth was mainly thanks to simplified travel procedures and visa waivers.
Nearly 18 million foreigners entered the country visa-free, up 30.6% from last year.
The top 10 source markets were South Korea, Russia, Malaysia, Vietnam, Thailand, Singapore, the U.S., Japan, Mongolia, and Australia.
