The President made the appeal on Friday while receiving members of the Nigerian Diaspora Medical Associations, led by the Director-General of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), Abike Dabiri-Erewa, at the State House in Abuja.

President Bola Tinubu has appealed to Nigerian medical professionals living abroad to return home and help rebuild the country's healthcare system.

Tinubu declared that "poverty is not acceptable" while pledging that his administration would continue working to improve the welfare and prosperity of Nigerians.

Drawing from his personal experience of studying and working in the United States before returning to Nigeria, Tinubu urged members of the Nigerian medical diaspora to encourage their colleagues overseas to come back and contribute to national development
