The Telemedicine Center of the Sierra Leone-China Friendship Hospital in Freetown was filled to capacity on July 18, as more than 40 senior local nurses gathered for a specialised training session.
The initiative used a hybrid teaching model that combined remote video lectures delivered by experts in Hunan Province with on-site clinical demonstrations by doctors from the 27th batch of Chinese medical team.
The session linked the two sides through a video connection to deliver a four-part teaching sequence covering theory, simulation, Q&A and clinical rounds.
During the lecture, Dr. Zhou Shengqiang traced the history of acupuncture from ancient stone needle techniques and the origins of moxibustion to the theoretical frameworks set out in the "Huangdi Neijing."
