The Clash is coming home.Daytona International Speedway’s famed oval will return to its role as the host for NASCAR’s season-opening exhibition race next season after a six-year hiatus, multiple industry sources confirmed to The Athletic.The Clash will unfold on Daytona’s oval for the first time since 2020, and will be at the famed facility for the first time since 2021, when it was held on Daytona’s road course. The race is slated to be held on Saturday, Feb. 13 — the day before Super Bowl LXI and a week before the already announced Daytona 500 on Feb. 21.An official announcement could come in the next few weeks. But as the race’s popularity faded, NASCAR shifted the Clash to a purpose-built quarter-mile oval inside the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, where it was held for three years, then a two-year stint at Bowman Gray Stadium, an existing quarter-mile oval in Winston-Salem, N.C.
