No casualties were reported, as both railway workers and passengers were evacuated before the strike hit the carriages. Part of a broader wave of strikes The strike is the latest in a series of Russian drone attacks on rail infrastructure in the Dnipropetrovsk region throughout the recent months, as railway remains a consistent target. Ukrzaliznytsia has repeatedly reported Russian strikes on both passenger and freight rail infrastructure across frontline and rear regions throughout the year. Similar incidents happened in June and July, with a Russian drone striking a passenger train in the Zaporizhzhia region on July 19. Railway crews managed to stop the trains and evacuate passengers and the crew just in time to avoid casualties. The drone strike followed an unprecedented barrage launched at the Ukrainian capital on the same day, which killed at least one person and injured 17 across multiple districts, as Russia launched approximately 40 ballistic missiles.
