Prime Video is set to exclusively premiere worldwide a new docuseries about the Spanish National Team’s triumph at this year’s controversial and politically tainted FIFA World Cup — the feat that gave Spain its second World Cup winner’s star after trouncing Argentina in New Jersey.
Produced by the Real Federación Española de Fútbol (RFEF) and Telefónica Broadcast Services (TBS), the as of yet untitled docuseries promises to offer exclusive behind-the-scenes access to the Spanish team and the lead up Ferran Torres’ extra time goal that secured Spain its 1-0 victory.
Featuring never-before-seen footage and testimonies from all the protagonists, viewers will have access to unique moments that examine the triumph of a group of 26 players and a coaching staff that, over 52 days, formed a family.
More than just the thrill of victory, the docuseries examines the camaraderie and team effort, laughter and moments of tension and the looming challenge during a campaign when many even in Spain saw France as the favorite. Spain went on to beat France in the World Cup semi-final with a stunning exhibition of control soccer.
The show also promises “spectacle, entertainment and closeness to understand the keys to a success built on competitive instinct and the relentless drive to improve a team that will be remembered for the what, and, above all, for the how.”
