Following a meeting with Rustem Umerov and Ihor Klymenko, President Volodymyr Zelensky announced updates to the work of Ukraine's National Security and Defense Council (NSDC).
According to Ukrinform, Zelensky announced this in a Telegram post.
"We defined the parameters for the future work of our country's National Security and Defense Council and for updating its operating principles," he wrote.
Zelensky said Umerov would focus on communication with partners, negotiations, advancing security cooperation, developing relations between Ukraine's intelligence community and those of partner countries, as well as implementing programs such as the Drone Deals and Ukraine's anti-ballistic FREYJA program.
"Given Ihor Klymenko's experience within Ukraine's Ministry of Internal Affairs, the NSDC's work will place greater emphasis on the domestic agenda to strengthen Ukraine's resilience, coordination among defense and security institutions, and addressing challenges such as Russian cyber threats and criminal network activities," Zelensky added.
