Sports fans across South Africa can start clearing their schedules because Canal+ has confirmed the live broadcast rights for the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games, guaranteeing front-row access to one of the biggest sporting spectacles of the year.
Running until August 2 in Glasgow, Scotland, the 11-day multi-sport showcase brings together elite athletes from around the world.
More than 3 000 athletes from 74 Commonwealth nations, including 500 African contenders, will be competing across 10 sports and 6 para-sports, including athletics, swimming, track cycling, 3x3 basketball, artistic gymnastics, boxing, judo, netball, weightlifting and bowls, making this year's edition an absolute must-watch for sports lovers across the continent.
Events will be held at four world-class venues: Scotstoun Stadium, Tollcross International Swimming Centre, Scottish Event Campus and Glasgow International Arena & Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome.
