North West Businessman, Suliman Carrim, was allegedly seen at the shopping centre in the Western Cape.

The Madlanga Commission is hearing controversial North West businessman Suliman Carrim’s application to postpone his appearance in an open session after rejecting his request for a private hearing.

Carrim argued that the proceedings should remain confidential to protect his medical privacy after missing several scheduled commission appearances because of an undisclosed illness.

In an electronic ruling on Thursday , commission chairperson Mbuyiseli Madlanga said the hearing would proceed publicly, while stressing that details of Carrim’s medical condition would not be disclosed during the proceedings.

The decision balances the principle of open justice with Carrim’s right to medical confidentiality, ensuring transparency without revealing sensitive health information.
