Through its Women Techsters program, Tech4Dev joins the 72 WSIS Prizes 2026 Champions, as the only Nigerian private organisation recognised as a Champion.

Technology for Social Change and Development Initiative (Tech4Dev), a leading global non-profit advancing digital inclusion and economic prosperity, has been named a WSIS Prizes 2026 Champion by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) for its flagship Women Techsters program, Africa’s largest women in technology program currently implemented across 30 African countries.
Presented during the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) Forum 2026, the recognition in the ICT Applications: E-Employment category acknowledges Tech4Dev’s Women Techsters program for equipping women and girls with future-ready digital skills and creating pathways to employment, entrepreneurship, and leadership in the digital economy.
The recognition marks a proud and defining moment for Nigeria, with Tech4Dev becoming the only Nigerian private organization recognized at the WSIS Prizes 2026, where 72 Champions were recognised across 18 WSIS Action Line categories. The achievement reflects Tech4Dev’s sustained impact to expanding access to digital opportunities, creating economic prosperity, and strengthening inclusive digital ecosystems across Africa through strategic partnerships with governments, development institutions, and the private sector.
