Jul 24, 2026 – 12.00pmThe country’s avocado industry is at war over testing that suggests some popular brands of oil made from the fruit sold in Coles and Woolworths are adulterated, allegations which have prompted food safety regulators in NSW and Queensland to launch independent investigations.The claims have been made by Avocado Trust, a collective of Australian and New Zealand producers, who commissioned a laboratory in New Orleans run by Paris-listed Eurofins Scientific to test several avocado oil brands stocked at the major supermarkets, and at Costco.
