Gulf states, Jordan say continued Iranian attacks are ‘explicit acts of aggression’

The six Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states and Jordan said on Thursday they were united in condemning the “treacherous aggression” launched by Iran and its proxies against their territories.

In a joint statement, the seven countries said Iranian attacks on their territories, citizens and civilian infrastructure had continued without interruption since Feb. 28, 2026, including after Washington and Tehran signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on June 17.

They said the attacks had intensified particularly against Bahrain, Kuwait and Jordan, targeting energy facilities, water desalination plants, ports, airports and other civilian infrastructure.

The seven countries stressed that the continuing attacks constituted “explicit acts of aggression” in violation of the UN Charter, international law, international humanitarian law, UN Security Council Resolution 2817 (2026), and Iran’s explicit commitments under the MoU, posing a threat to international peace and security.
