Tokyo E-Prix (Image credit: Formula E)The ABB FIA Formula E World Championship reaches Japan for a crucial double-header as the Tokyo E-Prix hosts Rounds 14 and 15 of the 2025/26 season. With only four races left in the championship, the title fight has intensified. This year's event is also special as Formula E stages its first-ever double night races in Tokyo. Here’s what makes the Tokyo Street Circuit special. A demanding track around Tokyo Big SightThe Tokyo Street Circuit is a 2.582 km layout featuring 18 turns around Tokyo Big Sight, Japan's largest exhibition and convention centre. Built along the Tokyo Bay waterfront, the circuit combines three long straights with tight corners and fast sections, making it one of the most technical tracks on the Formula E calendar.The Tokyo E-Prix marks the final Asian race for the GEN3 Evo car before the championship moves to its final rounds.The original layout was unveiled in October 2023 as an 18-turn, 2.582km street circuit. Before the inaugural race, organisers introduced a chicane at Turn 16, increasing the layout to 20 corners.Ahead of the 2025 event, the circuit was updated again. The chicane was removed, while Turns 1, 4 and 6 were widened. The apexes at Turns 6 and 8 were modified, and the bumpy section between Turns 2 and 3 was resurfaced to improve racing. Several drivers, including Oliver Rowland and Pascal Wehrlein, praised the changes.Tokyo to host first night racesFor the first time, both Formula E races in Japan will be held under floodlights, with the action starting at 8:00 PM local time.
