The first new series set in the (animated) world of Avatar: The Last Airbender in more than a decade has a premiere date.
Paramount+ will debut Avatar: Seven Havens on Oct. 9, the streamer announced Thursday. The news came during a Comic-Con panel devoted to the feature film Avatar Aang: The Last Airbender, which premieres on Paramount+ (and a handful of theaters for awards qualification) this weekend.
Seven Havens, from Avatar creators Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko, is set well after the events of sequel series The Legend of Korra. The show centers on a young Earthbender who discovers she’s the new Avatar, but that “marks her as humanity’s destroyer, not its savior,” according to the show’s logline. “Hunted by both human and spirit enemies, she and her long-lost twin must uncover their mysterious origins and save the Seven Havens before civilization’s last strongholds collapse.”
Along with the premiere date announcement, Paramount+ also released a teaser for Avatar: Seven Havens. Watch it below.
