The 24-year-old's West Ham deal was to 2029 Michael Steele/Getty ImagesJuly 23, 2026 Updated 3:20 pm EDTCrysencio Summerville has signed a four-year deal to join Al Hilal from West Ham United for a fee just above €70million (£60m).The winger completed a medical in Amsterdam on Tuesday and has put pen to paper on the agreement.His transfer is seen as a top priority for the club’s new ownership and for new sporting director Simon Francis, who joined from Liverpool this summer.The Athletic reported on July 21 that the two clubs had agreed a deal worth £55million plus £5m in add-ons, equating the total package to over €70m, pending the final authorisations being completed.Summerville’s contract at West Ham was not due to expire until 2029, but the 24-year-old has been expected to depart the London Stadium this summer following the club’s relegation to the Championship. The Athletic reported earlier this summer it was expected to cost approximately £50m for West Ham to sanction his departure.Roma had made a bid worth €46million (£39.12m; $56.21m) for Summerville this month. Manchester United had also enquired about his situation, while Aston Villa expressed an interest.Summerville made 34 appearances in all competitions last season, scoring seven goals and providing five assists. In total, he has made 56 appearances for the club since joining from Leeds United in 2024.The winger recorded two goals and two assists in four appearances for the Netherlands at this summer’s World Cup, as his side exited on penalties against Morocco in the round of 32.Summerville, alongside the other West Ham players who featured at this summer’s World Cup — including Tomas Soucek, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and El Hadji Malick Diouf — did not report back for pre-season training earlier this month as their preparations for the 2026-27 season got underway with a 1-1 draw against Southend United and behind-closed-doors fixture against Colchester United.Mateus Fernandes left West Ham earlier this summer for Tottenham Hotspur in a £85m move. Captain Jarrod Bowen, meanwhile, committed his future to the club, signing a revised contract, and will return to the Championship for the first time since he was signed from Hull City in January 2020.
