Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority, NCAA, Wednesday, threatened to stop Royal Air Maroc’s operations in Nigeria over what it described as incessant disregard of Nigerian passengers and violations of consumer protection regulations.
Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection at the NCAA, Mr Michael Achimugu, accused the Moroccan carrier of poor passenger handling, frequent baggage infractions and failing to promptly resolve complaints lodged by Nigerian travellers.
Achimugu, in a statement on X, said despite being sanctioned in 2025 for consumer protection-related infractions, the airline had shown little improvement in its treatment of Nigerian passengers.
His words: “The airline, Royal Air Maroc, has for the longest time, been the biggest culprit when it comes to baggage infractions, poor passenger handling, and extremely poor resolution processes when dealing with Nigerian passengers.
