Police said on Thursday that a man had died after being critically wounded in an apparent hostage situation at a bank branch in Regensburg, Bavaria.
The man was taken to a local hospital but was pronounced dead soon after.
A major police operation including special units and a helicopter had gathered near the scene on Thursday afternoon.
