DUT leads the way in AI discussions with Africa's first DataScientia Symposium
The Durban University of Technology (DUT) is set to place Africa at the centre of global conversations around artificial intelligence and data science when it hosts the 2026 DataScientia International Symposium.
The four-day symposium, taking place from July 22 to 25, marks the first time the prestigious international event will be held on the African continent.
Hosted by DUT’s Faculty of Accounting and Informatics, the symposium will bring together academics, researchers, policymakers, industry experts and representatives from international organisations and state-owned entities from across Europe, Africa, Asia, the Middle East and South America.
A key highlight of the event will be the official launch of the DUT DataScientia Living Lab, which will take place during the opening ceremony at the Riverside Hotel in Durban on Wednesday.
