Coinciding with festivities at San Diego Comic-Con, io9 can exclusively reveal that writer Bryan Lee O’Malley is back with a brand-new Scott Pilgrim one-shot comic from Oni Press. It’s O’Malley’s first Scott Pilgrim comic since the series’ conclusion in 2010 (not counting the series’ pretty color versions). It’s called Scott Pilgrim EX: Dawn of Metal Scott, and it comes out this November. Keeping the graphic novel’s penchant for video game homages alive, Scott Pilgrim EX: Dawn of Metal Scott acts as a prequel to the beat-’em-up video game of the same name. The 24-page comic will feature a 16-page introduction of Scott Pilgrim battling against his doppelganger. No, not Nega-Scott. Metal Scott. Methinks Metal Scott might know everything Scott’s going to do, but that’s not gonna help him because Scott’ll know everything Metal Scott’s going to do. Strange, isn’t it? Anywho, have a gander at an early preview of what lies in store as the pair have a bout of fisticuffs before the comic—which will feature “never-before-seen extras”—hits your local comic book store this fall. © Bryan Lee O’Malley/Oni Press © Bryan Lee O’Malley/Oni Press Here’s the series’ synopsis, which delightfully takes the piss out of itself:
