The inspection special train in which Southern Railway General Manager R. N. Singh was on board, conducting a window trailing inspection between Karaikudi and Tiruvarur, falling under the limits of the Tiruchi Railway Division, on Wednesday suffered detention enroute after it hit a few cows which had trespassed on the railway track. The incident occurred in the evening when the special train was between Muthupet and Thillaivilagam railway stations. The train suffered detention for a few minutes due to the incident and left for Tiruvarur subsequently, said railway sources. The General Manager, accompanied by Southern Railway and Tiruchi Railway Division officers, inspected the Tiruvarur and Thanjavur railway stations. The Nagapattinam Lok Sabha MP V.
