A former police officer is facing sentencing.
A former South African Police Service (SAPS) employee has been jailed for 15 years after being found guilty of corruption.
Pitso Miya was sentenced in the Lejweleputswa Regional Court in Welkom.
The court heard that Miya, while working as an administration clerk at the Welkom Police Station, falsely claimed to be a Designated Liquor Officer (DLO).
He promised an unsuspecting victim a liquor license in exchange for a gratification payment.
