The 20-year-old French defensive midfielder is currently undergoing a medical on Tyneside before finalizing a long-term contract.
For a player whose Transfermarkt market value sits at €18 million, Newcastle are paying a meaningful premium of roughly 85% above that valuation.
The deal structure
The full financial architecture of this transfer goes beyond the headline number. AS Monaco will retain a 15% sell-on clause, meaning they’ll collect a percentage of any future transfer fee if Bamba moves on. In euro terms, the deal sits in the €40 million to €41 million range when including add-ons.
Bamba, born on July 14, 2006, made his professional debut for Monaco in August 2025. He logged 18 Ligue 1 appearances during his time with the club, though he’s yet to register a competitive goal.
