Arsenal just dropped €40 million, roughly £34 million, on Greek winger Christos Tzolis from Club Brugge. The 24-year-old signed a deal running through June 2031, giving the Premier League champions a long-term attacking weapon.
Both clubs involved in the transaction have active partnerships with crypto firms, and the transfer has reignited conversation about how digital assets are weaving themselves into the business of professional sports.
The football side of the deal
Tzolis arrives in north London after a season that was, by any reasonable measure, exceptional. He tallied 22 goals and 29 assists across 52 appearances in all competitions during the 2025-26 campaign. That kind of output earned him the Belgian Pro League Player of the Season award.
The Greek international will wear the #17 shirt at Arsenal, stepping into a squad that’s coming off a Premier League title. His arrival fills a gap left by Leandro Trossard, who departed for Beşiktaş earlier in the window.
