While crypto companies have spent the last few years plastering their logos on everything from Formula 1 cars to NBA jerseys, one of the fastest-growing corners of competitive entertainment is quietly going a different direction. The VCT 2026 Pacific Stage 2, Valorant’s top-tier professional circuit in the Asia-Pacific region, is running a $250,000 competition in Busan with zero crypto partnerships in sight.

The match that set this off

On July 23, 2026, India’s Global Esports squared off against Thailand’s FULL SENSE in a best-of-3 during Week 2 of the VCT Pacific Stage 2 group stage. Both teams had history. FS beat GE 2-0 back on May 15 in the Stage 1 upper bracket final, then went on to lose 0-3 to Paper Rex in the grand final. GE finished third in that same event.

Coming into this rematch, the stakes looked different. GE entered the match leading Group Alpha alongside Gen.G, both sitting at 2-0 records. FS, meanwhile, was working with a 1-1 record and needed a win to keep pace with the group leaders.

The world rankings paint an interesting picture of the gap between these teams, at least on paper. FS sits at roughly 10th globally, while GE comes in around 36th.
