There’s a category of problem where being right tomorrow is the same as being wrong.
A fraudulent transaction clears. A server starts throwing errors at 2pm and nobody notices until the morning report. A sensor drifts out of spec and the machine it’s attached to grinds itself apart over six hours. In every one of those cases the detection logic might be perfect — but if it runs as a nightly batch job, the answer arrives after the damage.
