In response to U.S. President Donald Trump’s latest threat to target Iranian infrastructure should Tehran attack commercial vessels, Speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf declared that if Iran is barred from exporting oil, no country in the region will be permitted to export oil either, and conditions in the Strait of Hormuz will not return to their pre-war status.
Ghalibaf wrote on X (formerly Twitter) on Wednesday, July 22: “The equation of this war is clear: either everyone or no one.”
He added: “In a region where we do not sell oil, no one will sell oil. If our security is not guaranteed, no infrastructure will remain safe, and security in the Strait requires the absence of U.S. forces. We have repeatedly stated that conditions in the Strait will not revert to how they were before the war.”
Concurrently, the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters issued a statement asserting that the Strait of Hormuz remains closed and warning that if U.S. threats against Iranian infrastructure are carried out, the Islamic Republic will not allow the export of “even a single drop of oil.”
Accusing Trump of renewing threats against Iran’s vital assets, the command emphasized that any vessel attempting to transit the Strait may do so only via designated channels and in accordance with protocols set by Iranian authorities.
