On Friday, President Cyril Ramaphosa will find out if the Impeachment Committee is interdicted from proceeding, while the Independent Panel report is reviewed.
MK Party parliamentary leader John Hlophe on Wednesday said President Cyril Ramaphosa should give evidence at the impeachment proceedings, not through a legal representative like a minor who was scared to face the perpetrator in a criminal case.
Hlophe said the Impeachment Committee was dealing with an adult who has knowledge of the matter at hand.
“He does not have a choice and I am glad there seems to be consensus that evidence must be given by the president, not through an intermediary or a representative.
“If he chooses not to give evidence, the law will apply its course,” he said.
