President Donald Trump called for the expulsion of Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD) from Congress on Thursday night, claiming that there is a known plot by the Democratic congressman to engage in impeachment proceedings should the Democrats win control of the House of Representatives in November. Trump referenced a social media post by political commentator Mark Levin accusing Raskin of being part of the impeachment scheme. Trump suggested Congress should “expel the bum.”“Jamie Raskin, a Loser in Life, who worked endlessly during my First Term to impeach me, and failed miserably, wasting the Country’s money, time, and effort, will guaranteed be trying to do it again, despite one of the most successful Presidencies in History,” Trump said in a post to his Truth Social account. In his post, Trump referenced other Democrats who tried to impeach him, including Rep. Al Green (D-TX), before mocking him for losing in his Democratic primary election. He then called for accountability on such political tactics and weaponization of impeachment threats, saying it hurts the country when it happens, and saying those who launch these impeachment proceedings suffer from “Trump Derangement Syndrome.”
“Something should be done about people like this who do bad things, but always come up on the short end because of their illegal or unscrupulous behavior, and hurt our Country in the process,” Trump said. “I agree with Mark Levin when he says to, EXPEL THE BUM. Congress can never be great with people like this, who suffer massively from Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS), casting their vote of HATE!”
