The Deputy Governor of Cross River State and Chairman of the State Boundary Committee, Peter Odey
The Cross River State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to working with the National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA, to strengthen disaster risk reduction, preparedness and emergency response across the state.
The Deputy Governor, Peter Odey, gave the assurance on Tuesday during a courtesy visit by a NEMA delegation led by the Assistant Director of Operations, Abuja/Uyo Operations Office, Labaran Ahman, at the Deputy Governor’s Office in Calabar.
Odey commended NEMA for its proactive interventions and sustained collaboration with the Cross River State Emergency Management Agency, CR-SEMA, adding that disaster preparedness remains a key pillar of the Governor Bassey Otu administration’s strategy to safeguard lives and property.
He said, “Disaster preparedness is a vital component of our strategy to safeguard lives and property.
