Shanghai-based Taiyi Quantum has raised RMB 300 million (about US$42 million) in a Pre-A financing round to accelerate development of its ytterbium neutral-atom quantum computing platform and advance toward fault-tolerant quantum computers.

Founded in January 2026, the company is building scalable neutral-atom systems based on ytterbium atoms and aims to complete its first full quantum computing system and demonstrate quantum error-corrected logical qubits by the end of the year.

The funding will support hardware development, team expansion, and academic and industrial collaborations as Taiyi Quantum pursues applications in AI, scientific computing, computational chemistry, materials discovery, drug development, financial modeling, and information security.
