The United Kingdom warned the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) that Russia’s missile and drone attacks on Ukraine are increasing the risk of wider escalation across Europe, pointing to repeated violations of neighboring states’ airspace.UK Senior Military Advisor Colonel Joby Rimmer delivered the warning in a statement to the OSCE published on Wednesday, July 22, by the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office. The statement pointed to the overnight assault on July 18-19, when Russia launched 41 missiles and 125 drones, killing at least 20 civilians nationwide in Ukraine.JOIN US ON TELEGRAMFollow our coverage of the war on the @Kyivpost_official.“The greatest contribution Russia could make to European security would be to end its aggression, agree an immediate ceasefire and engage seriously towards a just and lasting peace,” Rimmer said.Repeated strikes on civilian infrastructureEarly Sunday morning, Russian forces launched approximately 41 ballistic missiles, including Iskander-M, Zircon, and S-400 missiles.The strikes and resulting debris caused fires and structural damage across five city districts: Desnyanskyi, Dniprovskyi, Shevchenkyvskyi, Sviatoshynskyi, and Solomyanskyi.“Ukrainian air defenses intercepted 18 missiles and 108 drones, but nevertheless strikes and falling debris affected residential buildings, a supermarket, a dormitory and other civilian infrastructure,” Rimmer said, condemning what he called Russia’s “reckless behavior.”
