The United States carried out its 11th consecutive night of strikes against Iran, targeting military facilities including aircraft hangars, drone storage sites, maritime capabilities, military operations centers and logistics infrastructure, as the conflict continued to deepen and efforts to restore a temporary ceasefire remained uncertain.
US Central Command said the latest strikes were aimed at reducing Iran’s ability to threaten commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz. The command accused Tehran of attacking more than 30 commercial vessels in the strategic waterway over the past three months, while stressing that the strait remained open to international shipping.
The latest US attacks came as President Donald Trump warned that American operations could escalate further. Trump said the United States would soon target the area around Pickaxe Mountain, a heavily fortified underground complex near one of Iran’s main nuclear enrichment facilities.
Iranian military officials warned that an attack on the site would represent a major escalation. Pickaxe Mountain has become a central focus of US threats because of its location near Iran’s nuclear infrastructure and the difficulty of reaching deeply buried facilities.
