Lacson confirms OVP catering request; Poa says Senate isn’t paying

MANILA, Philippines — Sen. Panfilo Lacson confirmed that the Office of the Vice President (OVP) sought Senate funding for catering during Vice President Sara Duterte’s impeachment trial, but a defense lawyer said the request does not appear to have been granted.

“Well, I can confirm that no such arrangement is being allowed, as far as I know,” defense counsel and spokesperson Michael Poa said during a press briefing when asked about the request for the Senate to shoulder the costs.

Poa said he could not discuss the July 7 letter in detail because the defense team had no role in preparing it.FEATURED STORIES
