Kerolin joined City in 2025 Matt McNulty/Getty ImagesJuly 22, 2026 12:46 pm EDT Updated Manchester City are close to finalising the sale of forward Kerolin to Barcelona for a fee in excess of €1million (£850,000; $1.14m).At this stage the deal has not been completed but sources briefed on the situation, speaking on the condition of anonymity to protect relationships, said Kerolin was expected to leave City this summer due to the number of wide forwards in Andree Jeglertz’s squad, and a significant fee was set to be demanded given she has a contract at the club that runs until 2028.Kerolin, 26, joined City from North Carolina Courage in January 2025.She featured 15 times in the Women’s Super League last season either side of a spell out through injury between October and November as City won their first top-flight title in a decade. The Brazil international scored nine goals and provided five assists, including a hat-trick in the 5-1 win over defending WSL champions Chelsea in February.
City have added depth in attacking areas this summer with the signing of Beth Mead on a free transfer following her departure from Arsenal. The England international joined a squad that already included wide forwards Aoba Fujino, Mary Fowler, Lauren Hemp, Iman Beney and Lily Murphy, in addition to Kerolin.Forward Salma Paralluelo departed Barcelona this summer after The Athletic reported she had rejected the European champions’ new contract offer. She became the latest player to leave the club on a free transfer at the end of the 2025-26 campaign, alongside Alexia Putellas, Ona Batlle and Mapi Leon.Barcelona announced last week that forward Caroline Graham Hansen had agreed a two-year contract extension through to 2028.Kerolin has made 37 appearances for City, scoring 14 goals. Before moving to the WSL, she spent three seasons at North Carolina and was named the 2023 NWSL Most Valuable Player (MVP) after helping the club win a second successive Challenge Cup.
