The Argentine province of Chubut is making progress toward its goal of establishing itself as one of the country’s leading hubs for digital infrastructure.
The provincial government and the National Communications Agency (ENACOM) this month announced a collaboration focused on the development of telecommunications networks, data centers, and connectivity, as part of the Chubut Hub Digital 2030 initiative.
The government of Chubut and ENACOM signed a letter of intent to promote the development of critical digital infrastructure and advance the project that includes the installation of the second landing point of a submarine fiber optic cable in the country.
Further details of any planned projects were not shared.
"Chubut has very important competitive advantages compared to other provinces, and that puts us in a strategic position to obtain the necessary financing for this type of project,” the governor of Chubut, Ignacio “Nacho” Torres, said.
