Claro Argentina has completed construction of a new data center in Buenos Aires.

The operator relied on the support of /fdata, Fibratel’s division specializing in data centers, and modular data center firm DataWaves.

The data center is located on a 2,645 sqm (28,470 sq ft) site in the Caba area of the Argentine capital, and has a built area of 736 sqm (7,920 sq ft).

Fibratel said the facility totals a capacity of 650kW and houses 90 racks in its initial configuration. Datawaves has said the project totals 66 racks.

According to project managers, the facility was designed with modularity in mind, which will allow for progressive capacity expansion without the need for significant structural modifications or disruption to ongoing operations.
