It’s a tough time to be in the market for any type of gadget, and that includes practically everything Samsung announced today. While its refreshed lineup of foldables and smartwatches all look excellent, they’re also more expensive than their predecessors across the board. That makes Samsung’s typical trade-in values — even on the Galaxy Watch 9 and Watch Ultra 2 — more vital than ever.
Galaxy Watch trade-ins have never really received the same sort of offers as Samsung smartphones — even accounting for the obvious differences in MSRP — and unfortunately, the same is mostly true this year. Only owners of previous Galaxy or Apple Watches even have the opportunity to get some cash back for their old gadget, which means Pixel Watch owners are left on their side of the fence. Sorry Google fans, but Samsung would rather lure in lapsed iPhone users.

With one exception, this year’s list is identical between the Galaxy Watch 9 and Watch Ultra 2. Unsurprisingly, the best trade-in value you’ll find here is on the Galaxy Watch Ultra. Samsung rolled out a very minor refresh in 2025 that technically counts as a different model, but both are worth $250 back on your next purchase. Sticking with Samsung, the Galaxy Watch 8 and Watch 7 will net you $150 and $130, respectively, and the years-old Galaxy Watch 5 Pro offers a slightly elevated value compared to its contemporaries at $100.
