Sending USDT on TRON without paying gas fees has quietly become a multi-billion dollar weekly phenomenon. Gasless transfers on the network have climbed to nearly $3 billion per week, a milestone that says less about TRON’s marketing and more about what users actually want: moving stablecoins cheaply and without friction.

How gasless actually works

The term “gasless” deserves a quick translation. It doesn’t mean transactions are free in some magical sense. It means users don’t need to hold or spend TRX, TRON’s native token, to move their USDT around.

Instead, the fees get deducted directly from the USDT being sent. Flat fees typically land between $1 and $2 per transfer.

There’s also an energy rental mechanism at play. Standard TRC-20 USDT transfers normally cost around 13 TRX. Through energy rentals, that drops to roughly 4 TRX per transfer.
