This acquisition will lay the foundation for North America’s largest charging ecosystem for heavy-duty electric trucks (HGVs), connecting available charging capacity with fleets transitioning to battery-electric powertrains. Through this purchase, Flipturn’s customer base—including over 250 megawatts of charging capacity—will be integrated into Einride’s portfolio.
According to Einride, the acquisition will create the first fully integrated technology platform for electric freight transport, combining charging point management, energy systems, and a matching service that connects fleets with third-party charging infrastructure.
Flipturn will strengthen Einride’s software layer for charging infrastructure: using AI, it predicts charging times, optimises power delivery, and adapts the system over time to the vehicle and battery behaviour of each fleet. Additionally, Flipturn ensures charger uptime, manages driver access and payments, and coordinates on-site controls.
The Flipturn acquisition is expected to be completed in July 2026, subject to customary closing conditions and regulatory approvals. The purchase price is anticipated to be $38.4 million.
“This acquisition is a decisive step in our U.S. scaling strategy. Flipturn will further strengthen Einride’s software layer for electric heavy-duty freight optimisation and improve our customer offering by adding more cost-efficient, more reliable, and accessible charging to our customers,” said Roozbeh Charli, Chief Executive Officer, Einride. “With Flipturn, Einride is expected to become the first company in the industry with a fully vertically integrated electric freight technology stack.”
