Rice University has joined the U.S. Department of Energy’s Quantum Science Center to contribute research on quantum error correction and fault-tolerant quantum computing.
Rice professor Tirthak Patel will lead a project developing and evaluating quantum error-correction decoding methods on high-performance computing platforms.
The research aims to address scalability challenges in quantum error correction as part of the QSC’s efforts to advance quantum-accelerated high-performance computing.
