The family had initially gone to their local animal shelter just to look at the dogs, with her dad insisting they wouldn't be bringing one home. But everything changed when they spotted the "tiniest little terrier mix" and instantly fell in love.‌The puppy, named Nugget, quickly won over the whole family, and they decided to adopt him. However, the celebrations were short-lived after the woman's mum announced during the drive home that she wanted to change the puppy's name.‌While the teenager and her 19-year-old brother thought Nugget was "silly and adorable", their parents weren't so keen.She explained that her mum and dad, who immigrated from India, felt the name would be difficult for them to say and instead suggested giving the puppy an Indian name.She said on Reddit: "They started suggesting Indian names, such as Kuttappa and Aloo."
