POLITICAL parties have expressed deep concerns over eThekwini's ongoing governance failures, highlighting the impact on residents and calling for urgent reforms to restore public trust.
Thabani Ndlovu, the DA’s Whip for Finance in eThekwini, said the party remained deeply concerned by findings, which “once again” painted a worrying picture of poor governance and weak financial management within the municipality.
“What is most concerning is that many of the Auditor-General's findings have been raised repeatedly over several years, yet there has been little to no meaningful improvement. This demonstrates a failure by the current administration to implement corrective measures and hold officials accountable.”
Ndlovu said one of the most critical issues is the lack of consequence management for officials who continue to make the same mistakes year after year without facing any accountability.
