Han Chae Young, the actor behind some of K-drama’s most recognized titles, has scored a hit with “Raising His Mistress’s Child,” a Korean-language remake of a global microdrama that generated more than $15 million in revenue.

The series premiered July 10 on mobile-first platform FlareFlow and has already cleared 10 million cumulative views.

The original production of “Raising His Mistress’s Child” drew some 4.8 million viewers and logged more than 513,700 completed viewers – figures that prompted COL Group’s international platform to commission a localized version aimed at Korean audiences.

The remake follows a woman whose survival of a difficult childbirth is compounded by the discovery that the baby placed in her arms belongs to her husband’s mistress, while her own newborn has been taken away. She sets out to reclaim her child and hold those responsible to account.

Early engagement metrics have been notable. The Korean adaptation recorded an 84.4% first-episode retention rate and a 67.6% second-episode retention rate.
