Image: Henriikka Heikinoja / YleSummer has been warmer than averageThe cool weather has prompted many Finns to complain on social media, especially after temperatures at Helsinki Airport fell below 14 degrees Celsius on Tuesday.However, according to Yle meteorologist Aleksi Lohtander, the summer has actually been warmer than normal.So far, both June and July have been around one degree warmer than average.There is also better news in the forecast."From Friday to Sunday, daytime temperatures in southern and central parts of the country will be around 20 degrees Celsius," Lohtander said.Thursday is expected to be the week's coolest day in northern Finland, with temperatures ranging between 10 and 15 degrees, before climbing closer to 20 degrees Celsius later in the week.Those looking for the warmest weather this weekend should head east."Eastern Finland is likely to be the warmest part of the country, with temperatures reaching 22–23 degrees Celsius," Lohtander predicted.That marks a notable turnaround, as eastern and southern Finland are currently experiencing some of the coolest conditions in the country.
