Kerala has unveiled a comprehensive GCC (Global Capability Centres) Feasibility Report outlining a strategic roadmap to attract and scale GCC investments in the state, with an ambitious target of hosting 150 GCCs and generating two lakh associated jobs by 2031.P.K.Kunhalikutty, the Minister of Industries, Commerce, IT and AI launched the report at the ‘Kerala GCC Outlook 2026’ conclave held at Technopark. He described the report as a vital step towards transforming Kerala into the country’s most preferred destination for GCCs.“The government is keen to achieve this mission after analyzing the report. We have a highly skilled talent pool and a mature IT ecosystem. There are shortcomings, but we have to overcome them by relying on our strengths,” the Minister said.The conclave served as a strategic platform to discuss Kerala’s growing GCC ecosystem and emerging opportunities to position the state as a major GCC hub in India.Seeram Sambasiva Rao, Special Secretary, Department of Electronics and IT, said GCCs are driving the next wave of technological transformation and creating high-value employment opportunities across the globe.“Kerala is home to more than 45 operational GCCs today. Our vision is to build on this foundation and reach 150 GCCs and two lakh associated jobs by 2031. The GCC Feasibility Report is a comprehensive assessment of Kerala’s readiness and outlines a strategic roadmap for attracting and scaling GCC investments,” he said.The report assesses Kerala’s strengths and preparedness for GCC expansion while identifying strategies to enhance its competitiveness as an investment destination. The event brought together senior government officials, industry leaders, GCC executives, consultants and ecosystem stakeholders.During a panel discussion, experts highlighted that Kerala’s strong talent pool, quality educational institutions and innovative startup ecosystem provide the right ingredients to attract a larger share of GCC investments in the coming years.Published on July 22, 2026
