I use ChatGPT almost every single day, but until recently, I treated Voice Mode, or as it's now called GPT-Live-1, as something I used only on occasion. I didn't use it for anything other than quick questions when I was cooking or, recently, when I needed live translation. For anything requiring actual work or multi-step planning, I always defaulted to the chat box and typed my query.That mindset changed completely when I decided to plan a last-minute weekend getaway. Normally, planning a trip is a chaotic ritual, especially when planning for my family of five. I'd bounce between Google, hotel booking sites, Yelp reviews, Google Maps and of course, ChatGPT, frantically copying and pasting details across tabs until I could build an itinerary.This time, I closed my laptop, put my phone on speaker and did everything in one fluid conversation using live voice. That's right, I simply started talking out loud as if sharing my plans with a friend.
