A suspected Ebola case is being monitored at a London hospital after a humanitarian worker was 'exposed' to the disease in DR Congo, the UK Health Security Agency said. The British resident had been working in the African nation as part of a humanitarian organisation when he is feared to have contracted the disease. He was evacuated on a chartered flight as a precautionary measure, the agency said, and is now being 'monitored and assessed' at a hospital in the capital by specialists. The worker is not currently displaying symptoms and 'remains well'. There has not been a single case of Ebola recorded in Britain since 2015 when three health workers returned from Africa with the disease, according to reports. Richard Pebody, Director, Epidemic & Emerging Infections at UKHSA, said: 'The risk to the general public remains low. 'This individual has been transferred out of an abundance of caution, and we're pleased they remain well.' This is a breaking news story, more to follow.
