DOCTOR Kirthi Ramdhani has made history as the first African to qualify in both paediatric and plastic surgery.
A modest Ramdhani said she was driven by a commitment to provide holistic care for children and not the accolades.
The 38-year-old surgeon, who is based at Tygerberg Hospital and Stellenbosch University in Cape Town, recently completed her Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery examinations after already qualifying as a paediatric surgeon through the Colleges of Medicine of South Africa (CMSA) in 2021.
Her achievement has been celebrated by the Smile Foundation, where she volunteers as specialist, dedicated to changing the lives of children born with facial differences and other reconstructive conditions.
