Brave just turned its search engine into something that looks a lot like a crypto terminal. The privacy-focused browser has integrated CoinGecko’s market data API to deliver live token prices, interactive charts, and AI-generated market visualizations directly within search results.
Brave Search now surfaces real-time data for over 17,000 tokens, complete with price converters and historical charts spanning more than 12 years of market data.
How the integration actually works
Brave runs an internal “ratios” server that acts as a proxy for CoinGecko’s market data, which is then accessible through the browser’s native C++ APIs.
Instead of relying on ticker symbols alone, Brave uses CoinGecko’s unique token IDs for price fetching. This means when you search for a specific token, you’re getting the right price for the right asset, not data from some random fork with the same ticker.
